DerGyeongbokgung Palast (景福宮) wurde 1395 als Hauptkönigspalast und Zentrum der Staatsangelegenheiten während der Joseon-Dynastie erbaut. Sein Name, der "Palast des großen Segens" bedeutet, symbolisiert den Wohlstand für die neue Dynastie.

DerGyeonghoeru Pavillon (慶會樓), der sich auf der Westseite der Geunjeongjeon Halle befindet, diente als Veranstaltungsort für königliche Bankette, Empfänge von Gesandten und Staatszeremonien. Umgeben von einem wunderschönen Teich und getragen von 48 Steinsäulen, ist er bis heute Koreas größte erhaltene traditionelle Holzkonstruktion.
