"À Peu Près" Classic Dad Hat · Embroidered

A detached, slanted quadrilateral gives the capital À its grave accent, held apart from the letter as its own broad mark. Its angle introduces the unsettled movement carried through the upper line.

“À peu” stretches nearly from side to side in heavy sans-serif lettering, though each character behaves differently: the À leans left, the p remains upright, and the e and u turn progressively clockwise. The lettering is rendered in a flat solid light grey, with no outline, shadow, or decoration inside the forms.

On the Classic Dad Hat, “À peu près” reads as French for “approximately” or “more or less.” A generous blank band divides the two lines, making the smaller lower word feel deliberately held apart from the wider first line.

“près” is closely spaced and upright, with broader empty margins at either side. Its separate grave accent is wider and heavier than a conventional mark, while rounded bowls and counters meet dense straight stems; both p descenders drop below their neighbouring letters.
