The broadest forms are the three Korean characters across the upper portion, rendered in a deep burgundy with the firm, squared weight of geometric lettering. They do not settle into a baseline: the left character leans right, the middle remains upright, and the right leans left, leaving a loose, deliberately uneven rhythm. They share no outline or internal decoration. On the low-profile dad hat, that arrangement is carried in embroidery, so the stark two-colour idea reads through the material without needing any extra framing. The Korean wording means I’m hungry, a direct little admission delivered in letters that feel more architectural than handwritten.

An unbroken field of medium gray opens between that cluster and the single word at the bottom. BAEGOPA is made straight, evenly spaced, and much more disciplined than the characters overhead, with tall collegiate slab serifs in the same burgundy. That pause is central to how the artwork works: no secondary mark, border, or shadow interrupts the distance between the two lines. The result is a compact composition built from a tilted Korean phrase and its Romanized spelling, with the empty middle doing as much as the lettering.
