The engraved, wood-block effect of this artwork covers almost the entire front of a heavy blend unisex crewneck sweatshirt, setting its conviction in hefty serif capitals. A slim top line reads “BE NOT OVERCOME OF EVIL,” with letters drawn in a condensed serif, before all visual weight gathers in the lower two-thirds. There, a packed field of wide slab-serif caps piles together the words “BUT OVERCOME,” “EVIL WITH” and a bold “GOOD.”—the last marked by oversized letters and distinct bevel-shaded O’s, nearly brushing the side seams. The letters show fine, intentional grain distressing, most noticeable within the O of GOOD, where the texture breaks up the otherwise solid ivory fill and pushes the woodcut feel.
