Design story & product details
The artwork gathers bold forms and scattered detail, with oversized black Gothic lettering over a torn cream banner spelling out “BREAKWATER” and a stylised “DIARY” label below, shorn in black on a patch of cream. A curling dark teal wave, chipped with cream spray, rushes through the centre-left, while a blocky black lighthouse with railings and ladder looms among jagged seawall structures. At the left, a chart section shows close grid marks, contour lines, and a compass rose drawn with fine points — the kind you’d see on maritime survey maps.
Smaller elements drift between torn bands that read “SEA CONDITIONS,” “OUTER HARBOR,” and “AFTER THE STORM.” A black filmstrip frame at the top corner repeats three wave images, partly exaggerated by a paperclip illustration overlapping the strip. Below, crosshairs and scatter dots tuck into margins, lending a measured layer to the busy collage.
