Design story & product details
Blue-and-white ink gives the artwork a worn, layered edge on the Heavyweight Unisex Crewneck T-shirt, where narrow white inset lines cut through the heavy serif letters and offset blue borders push each line upward to the right. The lettering reads “Study The Past Deffine The Future,” with the double F in “Deffine” retained as part of the artwork. A small outlined panel contains the first “The,” while “Deffine” runs through a ribbon with a notched left end and short parallel hatch marks. A blue graduation cap crowns the composition, its tassel falling to the left.
The surrounding ornament is unusually dense: curled vines, pointed leaves, spirals, and scattered dots press into the margins without covering the letterforms. Open white pockets create breathing room between the botanical marks and the blue fills, which are broken by white speckles and scratches. Beneath “Future,” a balanced leafy flourish spreads outward in a near-symmetrical finish. The result joins academic lettering with decorative engraving-like detail, using the cap and the upward-moving lines to carry the idea of study leading forward.
