On a hoodie, the ink softens the neon tubing of this old roadside motel sign just enough that Drove Past Six Motels to Sleep on the Ground seems to glow through dusk. Because it is all black and white, every bolt, cable and checkerboard strip stays crisp.

The joke is the bulb-lined arrow. It skips all six motels and points straight at a small lit tent among the rocks. It suits the friend who plans every road trip around a campsite.
