Design story & product details

The helmet’s dangling lever drops just past a tangle of thorny rose stems, as if caught in their path. Dense clusters of Gothic capitals, outlined and stippled for depth, structure the scene in two sweeping lines: EARTH HAS and BETTER FLOWERS. Breaking through these rows, swept by sinuous thorns, the detailed rose rises from a mass of angular stones and loose soil, rooted firmly inside the helmet—its round fasteners and ribbed neck ring picked out in careful detail.

Dense, stylized and direct, it suits anyone drawn to grounded themes or traditional illustration.
