The orange trail doubles back a dozen times on its way to the summit. Beside it, the words I Like the Steep Part are carved like cream stone with deep blue sides. The joke is a hiker’s confession: the switchbacks that make everyone else stop for breath are the part this person enjoys. On a heavyweight crewneck tee, the stippled rock and burnt-orange ridges look like an old engraved trail map.
