Description
Dark burgundy red is the only colour carried by the artwork, forming the French words “La part reçue” in one broad rising arch on the classic dad hat. The phrase means “the received share,” and its compact words travel from a low capital L at the left through a higher middle to a descending final e. The red remains solid throughout, without a second colour breaking the letterforms.
Heavy serif construction gives the line a measured rhythm. Thick upright strokes hold the arch together, while thinner curved joins turn through rounded bowls and finish in pronounced feet. The lowercase a contains a small enclosed opening near its top, the p reaches below its neighbours, and a curved cedilla hangs under the ç. Close spacing keeps each word cohesive, yet the spaces between the three words remain clear.
The mark is made in embroidery, retaining the solid dark burgundy red fill described by the artwork. No outline, shadow, texture, or interior colour alters the message. The wide arc leaves substantial unmarked space beneath it, so the lettering reads as a single, deliberate sweep.
