Design story & product details
The tiny red mouth is almost lost beneath the mermaid’s rounded cream face, where closed black eyelash lines and two circular red cheeks give the figure its doll-like expression. Mermaid Holding Fish is a Heavyweight Unisex Crewneck T-shirt carrying the words Good and Mood in enormous red condensed capitals, with the figure pressed through their middle.
Her long black hair falls to both sides in broad sections, crossed by fine cream curves that can be missed among the letters. Cream arms cross in front of her body to hold two small outlined fish; each fish has its own patterned scale treatment. At the upper left, Calm and Chill appears in compact white condensed type.
The red letterforms have slim white counters and slight darker-red mottling within the heavy strokes, leaving narrow vertical white channels between them. Below the arms, cream scallops trim the waist before the red tail sweeps to the right. Repeated cream scallops cover the tail, which finishes in two pointed fins marked with cream stripes.
