Description
A circular composition anchors the artwork, each element drawn with stippled dot shading and off-white lines against black cloth. ‘MOONLIT’ is arched at the top in tall serif outline letters, using a double-line stroke that leaves the interior open to the background. Beneath it, ‘TIDE POOL’ repeats the outlined serif style, sitting slightly smaller but carefully spaced within the arc.
The moon appears at upper right, detailed with crater marks, and its reflection extends below in sharply rendered, horizontal waves. The lower and side sections fill with a tangle of tide pool life: a large, finely detailed anemone sprawls across left and bottom, surrounded by clusters of barnacles, mussel shells, and one starfish at the lower edge. Seaweed fronds wrap along the circle’s right side, drawn with rounded bladders and twisting lines.
An uneven, rocky outline forms the whole badge, marked by jagged edges like weathered stone breaking the border. The phrases ‘BETWEEN WAVES’ and ‘LOW WATER’ complete the design along the bottom, with the former in small serif capitals bordered by thin double lines and ‘LOW WATER’ set in a contained rectangle beneath.
The density of detail in the lower half contrasts with the open space around the moon above, drawing focus to the gathered marine life. Each feature is picked out in stipple and line, using the hoodie’s black fabric to define form and volume within the outlines.
