In this faceless portrait, a 45 record takes the place of the head, under red light and smoke
The giant cracked 45 means both a record speed and an age, so it makes a sly gift for a milestone birthday

Design story & product details

The face is the one thing missing from this portrait. Where it should be, two hands raise a black record with a worn cream label marked 45 RPM. Behind it stands a figure in a leather jacket, lit by red light and smoke. The title, Portrait at 45, is set in huge cracked cream capitals, and the 45 is nearly as tall as the record.

As a wooden framed poster, it plays on two meanings of 45: a record speed and an age. Give it to a friend turning 45 who still spins vinyl.
