Design story & product details
A seated woman drawn in beige, black and gold linework gives the artwork its largest form, her folded arms held across raised knees and her face lowered with closed eyes. Her charcoal-and-tan bun is densely worked, yet a few loose tendrils soften its edge. On the grey unisex crewneck sweatshirt, the figure’s cream-and-black plaid skirt, opaque black tights and sharply pointed red pumps create a deliberate progression down the composition. Her red lips answer the red cursive lettering beside her: “She Wears Her Strength Like Poetry.”
- A red rose with gold-edged leaves marks the upper corner, carrying the same red and gold used throughout the artwork.
- Fine gold rules, ornamental brackets and small starbursts organise the open grey ground without enclosing the figure in a box.
- Gold dots and splatter marks break the clean lines, while a curling vine near the lower edge ends in small red rosebuds.
The lettering is rendered in four stacked lines with heavy cursive down-strokes and fine returning strokes, with no outline around the red script.
