Design story & product details
Empty white finishes at each end of the ribbon banner set off the central curve, pulling the focus downward after the eye tracks from the yellow sun to the angled boot. Every stitch outlines the winding laces that skip one top hole, letting the end fall loosely. That single untied lace, not caught by the black treads or the mountain edge, is left hanging—resting mid-step—hinting at the art’s pause just under the summit.
The broad sun is cut in half visually by the boot, yet fully visible, casting a solid shape unbroken by highlights. Behind the green mountain rise, the darker shading on one slope shows the effect of indirect light. Each pine tree is differentiated, clustered with one extra near the right cluster, which a hiker might miss at first glance.
The solid block letters SUMMIT REST provide the only text, arched cleanly and filled without shadow, following the stitched curve of the banner. There is no additional emblem or ornament on the plain gray background.
