Design story & product details
Lettering fills most of the surface, using unusually tall and condensed serif characters in cream with a thin outline and a slightly weathered fill. The sharp vertical rhythm feels continuous, with almost no gaps between the letters on the top two lines. There’s a strong sense of compression in those first lines, wrapping the phrase into a dense horizontal block near the collar line.
The smaller, rust-colored words below break sharply with the big text above, using a thinner serif set between two fine lines. There’s notable vertical space between text blocks, so the lower third feels much more open in comparison to the tightly packed upper half. The smallest line at the bottom, widely spaced and neutral, quietly cites the proverb. This artwork feels made for those who notice subtle details in composition.
