Description
Drip marks descend from the block letters of ‘THE SEA’, giving the impression of water trickling down, as though the text itself has absorbed the damp air near the coast. Central to the artwork is a silhouetted wooden door or fence, the halftone texture throughout softening what could be harsh, angular lines of old boards. A diagonal cross-brace, secured with tiny dots for rivets, angles across the door and hints at the stubbornness needed to withstand years by saltwater.
Beneath, calm water reflects both door and stones, rendered with short, deliberate strokes and stipples, and barnacle-covered rocks anchor the scene at either side. The lower text, repeating the jagged block style, seems to settle unevenly as if resting on shifting sand. Just underneath, a small oval marked ‘BOATHOUSE’ carries loose wavy details, with each end capped in a curling flourish. Designed for a heavyweight unisex crewneck t-shirt, the graphic compresses dense energy at the edges, leaving the center open and airy.
