Design story & product details
The pinecone-and-branch scrollwork lifts right up to the edge of the badge’s oval, and each needle is etched in layered hatching. The gold on the top arc ribbon shows navy shadowing along the torn edge, echoing the ragged snow on the mountain peaks that rise just above the text. The phrase at the top, ‘TRAVEL ABOVE THE CLOUDS,’ is shaped in a curve to mirror the crest.
A multi-car electric train, shown with its pantograph on the wire, traverses a stone viaduct of repeating arches. Below, you can see the pine forest rendered with densely cross-hatched navy lines, and beyond are overlapping ranges and banks of clouds where the hatching opens to blank cream.
