Design story & product details
Flat grey shows through only at the corners and in narrow gaps between the drawing and the lettering. Almost every other bit of space belongs to a road bike, an armchair or the words Yes, the bike lives inside. On the Men’s Oversized Heavyweight Crewneck T-Shirt, that crowded arrangement gives the familiar argument about indoor bike storage a very literal illustration.
The navy road bike is drawn with fine etched detail, with silver components, a tan-orange saddle and tan bar tape. Its tan-walled front tyre overlaps the pale grey armchair, bringing the wheel into the same small space as the plump cushion and studded rolled arms.
The lettering has tall, heavy, condensed forms with flared, pointed serifs. Dark navy fills are broken by speckles and thin light scratches, while both lines remain straight. The handlebars and chair interrupt the upper words; below, the front wheel and dark turned wooden chair legs press into the lower line, making the text part of the same packed drawing.
A rust-orange knitted throw hangs over the chair’s right arm, its fringe adding another fine texture beside the etched bike and stippled upholstery. It suits the cyclist whose bike shares the living room.
