"A Point" Classic Dad Hat · Embroidered

À point is drawn in large serif letters outlined in black and left white within the forms. The line climbs toward its middle before falling away at the right, so the word has a shallow arched course instead of a level baseline. À is kept apart from point by a marked white interval. Its grave accent is a separate rounded wedge, and the A’s triangular counter remains open. In point, the p drops well below the other letters, the o holds a high oval opening, and the i is finished with an oversized outlined oval dot. The French phrase means to the point.

On the classic dad hat, the embroidery follows the lettering’s narrow interior shading with short tapered black strokes. They gather close to the inner edges of the letters, accent, and dot, while broad white sections keep each form legible. The outward-flaring serifs end in angular tips, giving the word a deliberately cut profile even where the letters press close together. The empty span after À carries as much of the composition as the crowded point sequence, making the separated initial and its accent read as their own small unit. No other image interrupts the lettering.
