Design story & product details
Broad unmarked space surrounds the lower half of Beneath The Tree, giving the small figure and trunk room to register without competing detail. The artwork appears on a Heavy Blend Unisex Crewneck Sweatshirt, where a nearly black tree rises from a sparse run of ground strokes and a solitary human form waits to its left.
A huge, roughly circular canopy fills the upper field in charcoal, dark olive-grey and lighter grey, its irregular edge shedding flecks into the surrounding space. Fine bare branches cross through its lower portion, remaining legible against the layered mass, while the figure’s lowered head and two narrow legs give its long, straight garment shape a measured scale.
The canopy is built from overlapping patches with rubbed and scraped edges, moving between charcoal and muted olive-grey. Tonal breaks remain throughout the crown, which never resolves into a smooth field. The trunk broadens only slightly at ground level before dividing into angular, finely drawn limbs. Stippling roughens the perimeter; thin irregular strokes extend left under tree and figure, and short detached dashes punctuate the base.
