“HAPPY” is drawn in tall peach capitals, each letter edged in pale cream and pushed by an offset dark red shadow. The H is much larger than its neighbours, with a curl unfurling from its left side; below it, “Birthday” joins into thick peach script on a slant, with its own deep red shadow.
Between the two lines, a brown bear with a tan muzzle and belly lifts one paw around a handful of fine balloon strings. Burgundy, red, coral, yellow, gold and muted green balloons overlap at the upper left, their rounded bright highlights giving the cluster a lacquered, buoyant finish.
A smiling woman with swept-up brown hair holds a stemmed glass filled with red liquid beside the bear. Her cream shirt is marked by vertical stripes, while muted green trousers and dark red shoes meet the brown slatted bench behind her, whose supports end in dark curls.
