At first glance, the swirling acanthus-leaf scrollwork in deep gray appears to anchor the corners, but where one leaf edge passes beneath a train of engraved fabric, it’s meticulously interlaced so that shadow and light fold together. The centerpiece is a classical figure, seen from behind, draped in shaded robes flowing outward in crosshatched layers. A textured coiled bun crowns the bowed head, while every fold of the dress transitions seamlessly down into densely layered train and contour.
On both sides, large Asian glyphs are treated as sculptural blocks—carved with beveled edges, marbled cracks, and darker grooves bordering the stone. These glyphs spell 숨결, which translates to “breath” in English: a resonant counterpoint to the bold serif text below. The word “BREATH” is given a marble-vein finish in imposing letters; beneath, a slim banner quietly introduces “FORM IN AIR” in a more restrained, modern serif.
The crewneck sweatshirt’s entire composition is organized around the interplay between engraved texture and the gradual clearing of the upper space, leaving the background above the stone glyphs entirely open to gray. The vertical flow of robe and marble block is halted by the thick scrollwork, drawing attention to the dense convergence at the base—where lettering, leaves, and fabric all accumulate into complexity.
