Design story & product details
The arched Chestnut lettering leads the artwork, with the middle letters reaching its highest point in large serif capitals. Tan fills each letter, and burgundy outlines frame the forms while closely spaced diagonal and curved hatching runs through the strokes. The treatment carries through the serifs as well. On the embroidered Classic Dad Hat, that upward sweep makes room for the chestnut and leaves the outer corners open.
A single chestnut is centered over the high part of the arch, with a narrow empty gap before the letters. Its deep burgundy fill is bounded by a thick matching contour, shaping a pointed top, rounded bulging sides, and a flattened oval base. Rust-orange strokes follow both sides, joined by a patch under the tip carrying several fine burgundy curves. The base is muted golden tan, marked by short irregular burgundy scratches. The empty space below Chestnut is left untouched, so the image ends cleanly at the arch.
