A cream-white cockatoo fans its yellow crest and bites through gilded baroque ornament on this Unisex Jersey Tank. The gold lettering reads, “Smarter than the frame they put her in.” Layered feathers and chipped red-and-gold scrollwork give the bird’s escape a carved, almost sculptural feel, with its beak doing the demolition.

The joke is about outgrowing the limits someone else chose for you. It makes a pointed birthday gift for a teacher who values independent thinking.
