"Cross Current" Classic Dad Hat · Embroidered

The narrow white breaks at the ribbon crossing are small but decisive, separating the bands where the loop folds through itself. Bright blue travels from the upper left, through that intersection, and out toward the lower right; ochre-brown completes the opposing turns.

Below the loop, Cross rises in a pronounced arch, with its O held highest and the outer C and S dropped lower. Current forms a much tighter line beneath, its baseline kept straight as it reaches almost from one edge of the artwork to the other.

On the Classic Dad Hat, the embroidery follows the lettering’s tall, heavy slab-serif construction. Thin white inset lines trace the ochre-brown letterforms, while clipped corners and open white counters keep the angular shapes distinct.

The open space between ribbon and first word gives the loop its own clear field. Blue, ochre-brown, and white recur across the crossing and the type, linking the two parts without flattening their different rhythms.
