Design story & product details
A helmeted pilot fills the left and centre, facing three fighters that point right through the open space beside the figure. The large dark visor is joined by a circular ear covering, a chin microphone, layered straps and a zipped collar.
On the shoulder, cream 1983 digits appear over a striped badge with a dark star at its core. That small patch is sharply contained, while the pilot’s equipment breaks into broad, hard-edged sections of dark navy, muted grey-green and pale cream.
Within the artwork on the Unisex Longsleeve T-shirt, the words Defenders Of The Sky are built in tightly packed cream block capitals, with angular corners and worn areas that break up the fill. The lettering crosses a dark, rough-edged rectangular panel traced with thin cream lines and small stars.
Nearly every shape is cut by branching white and light-blue cracks, including the pilot, jets and type. The crowded figure and lower panel contrast with the mostly empty field left around the aircraft.
