Design story & product details

Plum-purple ink over pale cream gives this falcon the look of an old engraving, all fine hatching and barred feathers. The joke is in the words Finery With Claws, lettered in curving purple under the right wing. The bird is dressed in its best stripes and speckles, but its talons stay curled up and ready.

On a long-sleeve tee, the best detail is the banded tail fanned out at lower left, drawn stripe by stripe. Give it to the birder who keeps a hawk-watch tally every fall.
