  • A winged knight in silver armor guards the most Texan rule there is: four hours counts as close
  • The epic art and the very ordinary road trip claim make the joke, and the weathered red, white and blue finish makes it look old

Design story & product details

Huge red, white and blue wings fill almost the whole design. In front of them, an armored knight rests his gauntlets on a sheathed sword, a lone star on his chest, and the whole scene plays it completely straight. That’s the joke. Across the wing it says Four Hours Counts As Close, the Texan idea of distance, with Texas below in big swashy, weathered letters.

I’d buy this tank for the speckled, worn finish alone. It suits the Texan who drives four hours for brisket and calls it a quick trip.
