Rust-orange cables and a matching record label run through cream-white machinery and the purple-grey of the listener’s top. The joke is every crate digger’s confession, I bought the record for ten seconds: a whole album paid for one break worth sampling. On this crewneck sweatshirt, a producer in a beanie holds the vinyl still and turns a dial inside a towering rig of grilles and coiled wire.

It suits the beatmaker who digs through dollar bins for one drum loop.
