Half of the tall hourglass is still empty, and the man in the flat cap means to keep it that way. He hauls on a lever inside a riveted engine room of gears, chains and catwalks, all built to slow the sand, while the slogan Make Saturday Twice As Long. is bolted together from metal plates around him on this oversized heavyweight tee.
My favorite detail is the stack of brass bands clamping the hourglass neck shut. It suits a dad who guards his weekend.
