On a longsleeve tee, the fine etched lines of this humpback stay sharp, so the white light rippling over its dark back still looks crisp from across a room. Below it, four people in hoods, caps and a beanie grip a boat rail. One has binoculars up, and the rest just stare.

The heavy blackletter underneath says it plainly: nobody’s checking their phone. It’s for the friend who still talks about their whale watching trip.
