Description
A deep navy blue circular badge marks the side of the ceramic mug, its hand-drawn double ring giving the design a quiet irregularity. The upper curve displays the phrase ‘OPEN WATER BEFORE THE DAY BEGINS’ in tapered serif capitals that closely track the arc. Immediately inside, ‘SWIM’ is stacked three times in bold serif capitals, each nearly touching the edge and crowded together with almost no breathing room between the words. The thick-thin contrast and vertical hatching on each letter resemble a woodcut print, furnishing a noticeable tactile quality even in print.
Beneath the triple ‘SWIM,’ a stylized wave with dot and squiggle foam markings curves forward, with negative space on both bottom sides between the wave and the inner circle—something only visible when the mug is rotated in hand. Simple horizontal lines mark the suggestion of water beyond. The mug suits early risers and those drawn to the quiet anticipation of outdoor swims.
- The badge wraps around the exterior of a classic 11oz ceramic mug.
- Hand-drawn lines and textured serif lettering convey a relief-printed look.
- The phrase is in English and is the only wording present.
