Design story & product details
The print on this unisex jersey tank is made with blackletter capitals stretching across three stacked rows, spelling out ‘ROSES HAVE RUINED.’ Sharp angles, heavy verticals, and intricately shaded strokes give the lettering a pressed, almost engraved appearance. A fourth line, smaller but cut from similar shapes, states ‘NICER COATS,’ anchoring the design below the main message.
Studying the arrangement, each white letter is shaded inside with fine black hatching, adding depth against the fabric. The rose at the upper right draws attention with its overlapping white petals and dense, engraved black lines, its thorny stem slanting diagonally. The stem travels through and behind the letters, entwining the phrase and supporting detailed serrated leaves and a single, downward-turning bud.
The lower right is given extra weight by a large, folded black form, densely shaded, with delicate white lines branching over it like veins.
