Design story & product details
The directness of the print brings the artwork forward on the long sleeve, led by the chipped capitals spelling out Second Reading. Each block letter is finished with a rough edge, dark shadow and delicate outline, giving them a dimensional look that visually reflects the ‘revised’ plaque on layered stone below.
A seated figure is drawn from the back, curls caught in dense black stippling, facing an open book bounded by their robe and arm. They sit among scroll-shaped details that wrap into the spaces between words and stone fragments, the drapery and columns pressed in where there is room.
Both cream and black form the ornament, with smooth highlights tracing the hair, exposed skin, and pages. The bottom panel—reading same pages, different eyes—anchors the whole artwork, surrounded closely by carved scrolls and folds.
