Intertwined rope edging appears first, drawing the eye to the oval scene shaped with purpose. At the centre, water glides in quick, white-streaked passes between imposing rocks, while dense hatching hints at the layered foliage and mountain backdrop. The most condensed textures gather around the rushing water, fading outward toward open space, which lets the composition breathe.
The bold block letters up top translate to “rapids” in Korean, an ordinary word for fast-flowing water, shaded here for a chiselled, three-dimensional look.
