Description
An ink-and-wash landscape stretches over softly aged cream paper, the visible paper texture and scattered spots giving the artwork an unvarnished look. Pale orange-pink fills the sky at upper right, beneath which jagged peaks rise, their rocky faces layered in soft washes of white mist. The sun appears as a flat cream disc just above the horizon, holding a calm space near the distant ridges.
A gnarled tree with bare, twisted branches reaches out from the upper left, clinging to one late persimmon, its fruit bright red-orange among only a few leaves. Snow rests untouched as blank paper, shaping the mountain slopes and outlining the main path. Lower left, a small stone house with a thatched roof sits behind a low wall. Footprints dot the snow on the slope, leading to its door and catching shadows where rocks break the white surface.
Pine trees appear as scattered dark brush marks along the ridges, their forms loose and windswept. At upper right, English cursive reads “Seoraksan Silence: Winter Dawn,” with the Korean lettering below giving the same meaning—literally, “Seorak Mountain at the moment of dawn.” A small red square seal stamp completes the composition. Suits anyone drawn to understated winter scenery for living or studio spaces.
