Design story & product details

A BMX rider in a backwards cap launches off a concrete stair set, drawn from below so the knobby front tire looms right over the words STAIRS ARE OPTIONAL. The joke works because he’s mid-air: steps are for people who walk. The navy halftone and the speckled, worn cream lettering give this heavyweight tee the look of an old zine cover.

It suits the rider who still checks every handrail and ledge downtown, and it makes an easy birthday gift for a teenager who lives on his bike.
