A towering wave curls into a hollow barrel. A hooded surfer in a dark wetsuit crouches deep inside it, and heavy cream blackletter spells out Storm Warnings Sound Like Invitations. The joke is in the surfer’s logic: the forecast that sends everyone else home is the one he has been waiting for. A thin streak of orange-red spray off the board’s rails is the only warm color in all that teal.
