Both clock dials read noon, because nobody is in a hurry. The lettering carries the joke: I came for a quick game, that was three games ago. It wraps around an engraved scene of two players on folding chairs, a pile of captured pieces and a pouch marked Corner Table Chess. The fine linework is the reason to own it.
