Uphill Was Understated runs up the slope in tall, narrow charcoal capitals, worn rough at the edges, as if the words are grinding up the grade as well. Above them a painted rider in a rust-red jersey grits his teeth, with sweat dripping from his chin, on a road that nearly folds back on itself.

Every cyclist knows the joke from a ride billed as rolling hills. The red-striped socks give this heavyweight crewneck tee an old-school racing feel. Give it to the dad who still talks about his first century ride.
