Design story & product details
Rust red and dark teal carry much of the visual weight, interrupted by mustard, orange, tan, and brown within a dense crowd scene. What Did He Say appears on a Heavy Blend Unisex Crewneck Sweatshirt, with thin uneven black lettering curving over the gathering and another narrow line under it. The lettering is drawn in the same narrow, hand-made capitals.
Five people are seated across the front, their chair legs and shoes left to trail into the white space below. Behind them, standing and seated bodies compress into overlapping rows, so the torsos nearly meet while the outlines keep each figure legible.
Faces have elongated noses, heavy eyelids, and a mix of moustaches and beards. Glasses recur throughout, including dark sunglasses, and the two rounded black hairstyles near the upper left and centre create a distinct contrast with the hats.
Brimmed hats, caps, and wrapped headwear shift the silhouettes from row to row. Patterned jackets break up the solid suits, while the black contour work holds the flat colour fields together in a closely arranged group portrait.
