香遠亭は、王と王族が休息を楽しんだあずまやで、景福宮の後園の美しい景色の中に佇んでいます。六角形の石造りの基壇、六角形の平面図、六角形の屋根で設計されており、この優雅なあずまやの細部まで丁寧に作られています。その構造の調和のとれたプロポーションは、その建築的、歴史的、芸術的な重要性を際立たせ、韓国の宝物に指定されるに至りました。
香遠亭（香遠亭）は、ソウル特別市鍾路区景福宮の後園にある二階建ての六角形の木造あずまやです。香遠池の中央にある小さな島に建っており、橋でつながっています。「香遠」という名前は「香りが遠くまで広がる」という意味で、優雅さと静けさを象徴しています。
1885年に建てられたと考えられており、その看板は高宗皇帝によって直筆で書かれました。2012年、香遠亭は韓国の宝物第1759号として正式に指定されました。
