Hyangwonjeong era um pavilhão onde o rei e sua família desfrutavam de descanso, aninhado na beleza cênica do jardim traseiro do Palácio Gyeongbokgung. Projetado com uma base de pedra hexagonal, planta hexagonal e telhado de seis lados, cada detalhe deste elegante pavilhão foi cuidadosamente elaborado. As proporções harmoniosas de sua estrutura destacam sua importância arquitetônica, histórica e artística, garantindo sua designação como um Tesouro da Coreia.
Hyangwonjeong (香遠亭) é um pavilhão de madeira hexagonal de dois andares localizado no jardim traseiro de Gyeongbokgung, Jongno-gu, Seul. Ele está em uma pequena ilha no meio da lagoa Hyangwonji, conectada por uma ponte. O nome “Hyangwon” significa “fragrância se espalha longe”, simbolizando elegância e serenidade.
Acredita-se que tenha sido construído em 1885, sua placa foi pessoalmente inscrita pelo Rei Gojong. Em 2012, Hyangwonjeong foi oficialmente designado como Tesouro nº 1759 da Coreia do Sul.
