Hangul Day Collection

Hangul Day falls on October 9. It celebrates the Korean alphabet, which King Sejong the Great created with his scholars and published in 1446 as Hunminjeongeum, “the proper sounds for teaching the people”. Before Hangul, writing in Korea meant years of studying Chinese characters; Sejong wanted an alphabet that anyone could learn in a few days, and its 24 letters still do exactly that. This collection gathers our pieces built around Hangul lettering: everyday Korean phrases, poems and words drawn as illustrated type rather than set in a stock font. Each product page tells you what the Korean says and how to read it, so you know exactly what you are wearing.
