Design story & product details

Black Velvet is set in tall, worn serif capitals, with swash tails curling out of the B, K, V and T. The words ride the sweep of a velvet coat’s train as if they had been stitched into it. Underneath, No Occasion Required makes the joke in neat cream type: you don’t have to wait for opera night to wear the good coat.

It suits the friend who wears all black to the grocery store.
