Ink on a unisex longsleeve t-shirt keeps every scratch of this drawing sharp, so the bull moose reads as an engraving: short tan strokes laid over dark brown, each one following the muscle of the rump and haunch. He is drawn from behind, walking away between two birch trunks, his head turned to the right far enough to show one eye, a heavy drooping muzzle and the dewlap hanging under his chin.
The antlers are where the joke lives. They are far wider than the gap he is walking through. The left palm disappears behind the left trunk and comes out the other side, while the right one spreads straight across the right trunk, tines and all. One hind hoof is tipped up mid-step, as if he has already decided to go through anyway.
Colour is kept to a handful of inks. The antlers are flat ochre-gold shaded with fine dark hatching, the birches are off-white with black horizontal bark scars, and a dark brown outline closes every shape. Both trunks end in ragged, torn points at top and bottom, so the trees stop the way a ripped strip of bark would. It suits anyone who spends autumn weekends in the woods, and it makes an easy gift for a hunter, hiker or cabin owner.
