Design story & product details
The largest form is the broad arch of bold dark-blue sans serif lettering: “Age is just another phase in the cocoon of life.” Its solid letters leave a wide white interval before the two fine antennae begin, making the words part of the drawing’s structure.
Below, an elderly man faces forward in glasses, with a lined forehead, jacket, trousers, and dark shoes. On the Heavy Blend Unisex Crewneck Sweatshirt, the artwork turns him into a butterfly figure through two thin blue antennae and the wings emerging behind his shoulders.
Four wing sections fan outward from the figure. The upper pair stretches long on a rising angle, while the lower pair ends in scalloped edges. Thick blue borders and dividing bars contain white panels, blue ovals, and circular spots, giving the wings a stained-glass-like arrangement without losing their insect form.
White dots punctuate the outer blue wing margins, a small detail that breaks up the heavier outlines. Faint pale-grey shapes drift through several panels and across the head, while broad white space remains around the legs and between the lettering and antennae.
