Dark burgundy linework holds peach faces, dark hair, and bright clothing together, while muted pink ovals give each raised-foot figure its own patch of ground. On the crewneck T-shirt, Dance of Joy follows two cartoon dancers caught mid-step, with open space left between their upper bodies. The left dancer’s closed crescent eyes and braided updo meet a yellow top, striped sleeves, green hanging ties, and a red skirt sweeping to the left. Raised hands carry a small flower fan and two unusually long, narrow sticks.
At right, one open eye, a cream headband, and its trailing ends give the second figure a different expression and silhouette. A blue top, striped sleeves, red waist ties, and loose cream trousers lead to the lifted foot. Beside the figure, a round-tipped beater rises by a red drum with cream ends; fine cords cross its body. The dark burgundy inscription · Dance of Joy · is rendered in bold slanted script beneath the figures, with a small dot on either side. It is English lettering, naming the joyful dance pictured.
