Design story & product details
A jagged, snow-streaked mountain peak and its spare reflection hold the broad open field of the illustration. The peak is worked in muted cream, grey, slate-blue and charcoal cross-hatching, while the water reduces its echo to an inverted triangular smear broken by fine horizontal ripples. One lobed cumulus cloud, made from closely spaced parallel lines, hovers in the otherwise clear upper space. Lake’s Edge is an illustrated Unisex Longsleeve T-shirt whose flat mid-grey ground lets the restrained line work remain legible.
Along the low rocky promontory, grass tufts interrupt the rock’s hatched surface. Four figures form a quiet row facing the water: a large light-furred dog, a boy in a cap, hoodie, shorts and boots, a ponytailed girl in a hoodie, and a smaller black-and-white dog. All are seen from behind, with no faces shown. The two dogs are seated; the boy remains standing while the girl is seated. Short horizontal hatch marks beneath them make small, grounded shadows, a restrained detail repeated in the water’s ripple lines. The promontory remains low in the composition, leaving the mountain and cloud plenty of unbroken space.
